A tiresome week...

Hello Bandits

Sorry for the lag in posting. My 80yr old MIL fell and broke her hip/femur bone on Monday night. Tuesday the operated on her. She had a rod and metal pin put it to mend it together. She's in great spirits and doing well in rehab. Hopefully she will be home soon. She is a true inspiration for someone who is 80yrs young and to me she is young you would never guess she was 80.

My FIL is lost without her. They've been married for 59 years I believe and are still so much in love with one another. It's truly inspiring. They are very playful with each other too, it's so cute. It's going to be a long road for recovery but I know she'll be stronger than ever.

In other news Joe and I did get to visit with my mom who was up from Florida for a week. I enjoy so much when she is here. I reminds me how much I miss her not being so close. 3-5 years from now we plan on moving to the Orlando area which will be nice. My mom is in Boca which is about 3 hours away. Not too bad. We are choosing the Orlando area b/c Joe can get a transfer there.

We took a trip to Monmouth Park race track today. It's only 10 min from our house. My uncle joined which was nice. We got to catch up and he schooled us on the horses. He's really good at it.

I was able to do some sketching this week and finish a 5x7 flat panel canvas today. I'll post some pics of it tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great week.

On a Magical High

Hey Bandits. Happy Sunday. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I topped mine off with a Sunday matinee of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. AWESOME. I LOVED IT. I'm a huge fan of the books, this was by far the best of all the movies and closest to the actual book. If you haven't seen it GO! what are you waiting for.
Seeing the movie now makes me want to re-read the books for the 4Th time.

In other events of the day I finished 2 more ACEO's. I'm really enjoying creating them. They are so quick and fun. I also have a few larger paintings in the works. I tend to work on 2-3 projects at a time. I love the chaos.

My Mom is also visiting from Fla. I'm so excited to see her. I haven't seen her since my Wedding in May. Looking forward to some Mommy time. No matter how old you are your Mom is always your "Mommy". Off to watch the rest of Big Brother. Oh and I'll be listing these ACEO's in my shop this week.

What I did this weekend...

Hey Bandits it's sunday night and I'm enjoying the 11th season of Big Brother. I'm enjoying the high school clique twist. It's too early for me to pic a fav but I can't stand Jesse. I'm annoyed though b/c it interferes with Merlin on NBC (No, I don't have a DVR. I know, I know)...

I had a nice weekend, Joe's son Matt is with us for 2 weeks, which is so nice for Joe because he gets to spend some real quality time with him especially since Joe is on vacation for the time that he is here. Last night we went for Chinese food and then play mini golf, I of course kicked both there butts. Today was a lazy sunday I got to spend some time cleaning up my office/studio and work on a painting. I still have to add some punched out stars to it but here is a sneak peak. She'll be up in the shop this week.

I love her pink hair, I've got fall on the brain by the way. It's just my favorite time of the year. This is a 5x7 wrapped canvas. You can see my paper punch ready to be opened and put to use. I think I have some funky paper that will be perfect, if not it's a trip to Michaels.

Old Black and Whites

I am consumed with TCM (Turner Classic Movies) I just love a good old black and white movie. Right now they are featuring "A Streetcar named desire" What an awesome film. I say it everytime I watch it. AMC plays great ones too. I wish they would play Sunset Blvd. I may have to go rent it once I figure out how to get our DVD player to work on our new TV. So annoying. Anyway. Check out TMC and AMC if you are old time movie lover.

Did I mention I love peanut butter?

I just finish a sinfully good cup of chocolate peanut butter swirl ice cream. MMMM. Suprisingly the store brand Wegmans. I'm not sure if they are across the country but if you have a Wegmans in your area try this ice cream!

On a peanut butter high I browsed the wonderful shops of Etsy I found 2 make you drool peanut buttery goodness that I will be trying asap. How delicious do these look?

Illustration Friday - Shaky

This is my first attempt at an Illustration Friday challenge. I planned on cleaning this up and doing it in watercolor, I did this doodle at work. I didn't like how it was coming out when I transfered it to watercolor paper. It just didn't look right. One of those days sooo, I just colored in my doodle. Here it is.

"Oliver is shaky on his new skateboard"

Hello...

Welcome to my little corner of the blogging world. I'm Kathy the "bandit" behind the Peanut butter bandit. If you don't know by my blog name I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER! I eat it just about everyday. I mean it. Even if it's just a heaping spoonful which in my opinion is the best way to eat it. Hey it's good for you! I also love caramel but that's a story for another time.

I live in NJ with my loving husband Joe and my sidekick & partner in crime Zoey the pug. She loves peanut butter too. I am a zombie to the corporate world durning the day and a self taught struggling artist. I love to doodle and paint. Which I do tend to do at work, alot so don't tell the boss.

I hope you enjoy visiting me and my little blog of peanut butter goodness.
