Direct TV has arrived

Hello Bandits,

Joe and I are now proud subscribers of Direct Tv. Whoo Hoo well it really doesn't matter to me but Joe is excited to have the NFL package and I'm excited b/c that will keep him busy on the weekends for me to paint!!!! and Shop LOL! Now to memorize my favorite channels.

Anyone watching Big Brother? I've been addicted since the show first started. I've watched every season I have to say this is one of the better ones. Loving Jeff not only is he not afraid to mix up the game he's not bad to look at either (blushing)
I hope he takes it. He and Jordan make a cute couple too. I hope they get rid of Russel this week. If you just watched tonights episode you will know that he took Kevin off the block and put Russel on. Well I've got work tomorrow (Booo) I hope to get some more goodies painted this week.

Bad Me..

Hello Bandits,

I've been a bad blogger. Sorry! I have a lot going on and nothing I want to bore you with. I had a productive Sunday on the craft front. It was productive but at the same time as I think I've posted before I feel like it wasn't. I truly believe its because i have to many darn ideas swirling around in my head.

We did get some rain this weekend but even with all the rain it's still hot and humid. Fall when will you arrive? I'm dying to shut the air conditioner, open the window and relish in some fresh air.

Here is what I did finish on the crafting scene. A wedding ornament, BOO blocks to sit on your spooky book shelf along with some larger trick / treat blocks. Oh and a cute name block complete with little wood girl. I have a boy one in the works. Name blocks can be made to match any room decor. They are solid wood and have been "distressed" for a time worn look. The boo blocks measure 1", trick/treat measures 2" and AVA measures 1 3/4".

They will all be in the shop by tomorrow. The wedding ornament is there now. How cute is that for a shower or anniversary gift?

I hope to have some more of the ideas cluttering my head become reality this week. I also have canvas' I started but put aside we'll see if I get to them too.

Tuesday we get Direct TV. Joe is so happy b/c he will have the NFL package, I'm happy b/c it keeps him out of my hair so I can CREATE in peace. Ahhh the simple things.

Here Comes Santa

Hello Bandits! Well the weather in Jersey isn't going to break anytime soon. It's going to hit 93 today and has been in the high 80's and 90's for the past week or so. I'm so done with summer. Bring on Fall! I've been busy working on some new fall goodies and Christmas ornies. Maybe if I work on and think about the holidays the weather will break? Wishful thinking LOL.

Here are 2 new ornies just listed in the SHOP Santa and Ronnie the Gingerbread man.

What are you doing to stay cool?

Where Does the Weekend Go?

Hi Bandits!

Where does the weekend go? It was just Friday night. It stinks when you work full time have a 2 hour commute to and from work. The week is long but short, long b/c you work outside of the house and short b/c by the time you get home you don't have the energy or the time to do what you really want to do and for me that is paint.

In between you have to run errands, clean the house and do laundry. Sunday's have become my time to paint but today I was disappointed in my self. I didn't get as much as I wanted to get done and that frustrates me. I think because I have so many ideas swirling around my head and I can't get them out fast enough. Hopefully this week will be better as far as painting and crafting goes.

I did try my hand at some paperclay today. Lets just say I need practice. It's hard to get used to. I starts to dry and stick to your hands. I'm going to keep at it though...

Ok enough of my rant. I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Hello Bandits,

Today is my 37th birthday! I don't feel 37 I feel more like 25 and some people will say I look 25 which isn't a bad thing. I still get carded at bars sometimes. Anyway, today Joe and I are laying low. We'll probebly go to dinner over the weekend. I'm pretty low key about my birthday. I'll try to post some then and now pics of me later today or this week. I always love seeing people's baby pics and thought I would share too.

In bandit news I've listed some Christmas ornaments in the shop. I was in that kind of mood. You can see them hereI'll be listing more later today. You can customize them however your little heart desires. Customs requests welcome.

The Servant

Hello Bandits. If you don't know I love old movies especially B&W. Two of my favorite channels to watch are TMC and AMC. Last night I happened upon a movie called "The Servant" from 1963 directed by Joseph Losey starring Dirk Bogarde and James Fox. Two actors to be honest I have no clue who they are, I guess because this was a British production.

Quick plot line:

Tony (James Fox), a wealthy young Londoner, hires Hugo Barrett (Dirk Bogarde) as his manservant. Initially, Barrett appears to easily take to his new job, and he and Tony form a quiet bond while, nevertheless, maintaining their social roles; however, relationships begin shifting, and they change with the introduction of Susan (Wendy Craig), Tony's emotionally- stilted girlfriend, who seems suspicious of Barrett and to loathe all he represents. Barrett brings Vera (Sarah Miles), whom he presents as his sister, into Tony's household as a maidservant, but it emerges that Vera is, in fact, Barrett's lover. Through Barrett's and Vera's games and machinations, they reverse roles with Tony and Susan; Tony becomes more and more dissipated, sinking further to what he perceives as their level, as the "master" and the "servant" exchange roles.

I thought this was wickedly good. Not a psychological thriller but definitely psychological type film. Pretty racy for it's time too. Sexual but obviously not showing things like they do today. They allude to what will take place, which in my opinion is far more exciting that what you see in the movies and on TV today. If you happen across it I recommend watching it or head to netflix/blockbuster and rent it.

Have a great Tuesday-

The wishing tree..

Hello Bandits. It's been a busy week. My MIL is doing so much better the physical therapist is supposed to come this week so she can start therapy on her hip. She is so anxious to get moving again. She's doing pretty well with her walker though.

I didn't get to paint as much as I would have liked this weekend. I had a bridal shower for my good friend dyana yesterday. She got so many beautiful gifts. It was a really nice time. Matt was out for the weekend so we had to run him back to Staten Island this morning and then we ran to Cost co. I bought Joe an Ipod touch as an early Christmas gift. By the time we got back it was about 2:30. I did get a few hours in and finished this painting called "The wishing tree"

I wasn't thrilled with it at first but it's grown on me. Sometimes I have to walk away from a painting for a while when its finished and I'm not sure about it. I think it's that I stare at if for so long I confuse myself LOL.
It's now listed in the shop I working on some tiny wood dolls too. I hope to get some finished this week but we'll see what the week brings before I make any promises.

I'm off to finish watching Notorious with Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant. Check it out!

He's Here!

My wee gnome from Humblebea came today! My Dumbledore's Army gnome is safely on my bookshelf over seeing my lovely Harry Potter books. I tried taking a picture earlier but the lighting was off. I'll try to snap a picture of him at his post soon. He's just too cute!

I thought I posted a picture of the 5x7 canvas's I mentioned yesterday but I guess I didn't so here they are. I'm thinking on the turquoiseish one to do some type of "wishing tree" still not sure on the other but I'm leaning toward something fallish. It's right around the corner you know.

Oh and today is my 3 month anniversary! Happy Anniversary Hon!

Productive Sunday

Hello Bandits! I had a very productive Sunday. I was able to finish 3 ACEO's and start the backgrounds on 2 5x7 flat panel canvases. The ACEO's are now in the shop. I'm not sure what I'll be doing on the panels I started. I have an idea but I still have to work them out.

Here is the other 5x7 canvas I worked on last week. I'll be lisiting it in the shop tommorow. It's called "Simple Things"

Joe and I can't express happy to we are that my MIL is now home and doing really well since her hip surgery. She has a long road in front of her but it's one she can handle with ease. She's such a strong woman and the string that keeps our family together. Love you Mom!
